The Locked Tomb Wiki

A Construct is any object or creature created through necromancy to serve an adept. Most commonly, constructs take the form of cleaned and reanimated skeletons (partial or whole) which function as a source of manual labor or military assistance to the necromancer. The construct is entirely dependent on the necromancers skill and power despite occasionally appearing "autonomous."

Characteristics[]

Abilities[]

Constructs only possess as much motor control and finesse as is instilled in them by their necromancer(s).[1] The larger and more complicated the construct, and the more complex the task, the more power and skill will be required in its creation.

Non-Constructs[]

Canaan House Servants[]

"The sheer amount of complex programming each skeleton followed would have taken all of the oldest and most gnarled necromancers of the Locked Tomb months and months to put together."[1]

The skeleton servants at Canaan House are originally believed to be extremely advance constructs. In their investigations, Palamedes and Harrow come to realize that the servants of Canaan House are a fully intact souls (revenants) anchored to preserved bones. The servants therefore experience true autonomy and independent thought/movement. As such they are not considered constructs. Palamedes refers to them as the "hideous corpse" (in contrast to the "beguiling corpse").[2]
